The DF-7 flow-through dissolution tester enables dissolution testing of poorly soluble formulations and trace drugs under optimal sink conditions.
By combining solvent switching and variable flow rate functions, it allows for the study of test conditions suitable for in vivo/in vitro correlation (IVIVC).
- A high-precision dual syringe pump ensures accurate flow rates across various flow speeds.
-Supports both manual sampling analysis and integration with online UV analysis.
• Number of Flow Through Cell: 7 cells / Can conduct different tests simultaneously with a 3+4 configuration
• Types of Flow Through Cell: Large cell (diameter: 22.6mm) / Small cell (diameter: 12mm)
• Flow System: Automatically switchable between Open-loop and Close-loop flow paths
• Temperature-Controlled Water Bath: Shared water bath for all flow cells, each cell equipped with a temperature sensor, accuracy: ±0.2°C
• Liquid Pump: Each flow cell is equipped with a high-precision dual-syringe pump
• Flow Rate: 2–32 ml/min, accuracy: ±2% (Pharmacopeia standards: 4, 8, 16 ml/min, ±5%)
• Liquid Delivery Mode: o Pulse-free
o Pharmacopeia standard: 120 pulses per minute sine wave (Pulse 1)
o Reciprocating piston pump sine wave (Pulse 2)
• Test Solution Switching: Supports automatic switching of up to 4 different test solutions
• Compatible Measurement Systems: Manual sampling / On-line UV
• Sampling Containers: Test tubes (20 times) / Vials (28 times)
• Sampling Volume: 1.0ml–320ml, adjustable in 0.1ml increments, accuracy: ±1.0%
• Disc Filter: o Membrane filter (outer diameter: 25mm)
o Circular tube filter (pore sizes: 5µm, 20µm)
• External Dimensions: 2700 x 750 x 820 mm (W x D x H, including laptop and printer)
• Each of the seven flow-through cells is equipped with an independent temperature sensor for real-time temperature monitoring.
• Provides a standard sinusoidal pulse of 120±10 pulses per minute (complying with pharmacopoeia specifications, either reciprocating or sinusoidal) or a pulse-free liquid delivery waveform.
• Utilizes a high-precision dual syringe pump for liquid delivery, minimizing the impact of air bubbles at low flow rates.
• Allows the replacement of four different dissolution media during testing, enabling pH condition adjustments to better simulate physiological conditions.
• Can be connected to a UV system for dissolution curve testing. The "3+4" design allows simultaneous open-loop and closed-loop operation, or independent open-loop and closed-loop testing, with the ability to adjust the flow rate during experiments.
• The dual O-ring sealing design of the flow-through cell ensures leak-free operation.
The flow-through cell method is a widely used modern dissolution testing technique, recognized in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), European Pharmacopeia (Ph. Eur.), and Japanese Pharmacopeia (JP). It has broad applications and is suitable for release testing of nearly all pharmaceutical dosage forms. In particular, it provides superior experimental performance compared to traditional dissolution methods for special drug formulations such as poorly soluble drugs, controlled-release/sustained-release formulations, implants, semi-solid preparations, microspheres, suspensions, and liposomes.
